On McKinney Music, “the best independent music magazine in the UK“, ARMORED DAWN, a Brazilian metal band, has returned with the official music video for “S.O.S.” and the brutal single “Tides.” Now, they have released their latest single, “Wayfaring Stranger,” which is a heavy take on Johnny Cash’s song.
“Wayfaring Strange” was recorded at eminent Dharma Studios and mixed and mastered by the famous producer Heros Trench, a Latin Grammy champ, with in excess of 200 artists added to his repertoire.

The band decided to record a new version of the song after watching the movie “1917,” whose soundtrack features “Wayfaring Stranger” in a scene that makes the audience think a lot. The popular American Christian song is about a lonely walker who overcomes the challenges of this world in the hope of reaching heaven, where his loved ones are already present.
Armored Dawn’s current lineup—Edwardo Parras on vocals, Tiago de Moura and Timo Kaarkoski on guitars, Heros Trench on bass, Rafael Agostino on keyboards, and Chris Oliveira on drums—continues to work on upcoming albums.
Rodrigo Oliveira and Heros Trench, two of the most prominent figures in North American music production, produced and recorded the band’s upcoming album, Brand New Way, at the renowned Dharma Studios in So Paulo. Chris Lord Alge was on mixing duties and Ted Jensen mastered it. Chris Lord Alge has been acclaimed since the 1980s and has won five Grammys. He has collaborated with some of the world’s greatest musicians, including Tina Turner, Joe Cocker, James Brown, Prince, and worked on the soundtracks for Rocky IV and Batman.
Ted Jensen, a sound engineer best known for his work at the renowned Sterling Sound studio, has mastered albums by the Eagles, Santana, Jean-Michel Jarre, and Norah Jones. In 2002, he won a Grammy for these albums. He worked on the most recent albums from The Pretty Reckless, Death by Rock & Roll, and Death Magnetic by Metallica, as well as albums from bands like Korn, Disturbed, Alice in Chains, and Papa Roach, in the heaviest genres of music.
