Jim noted that the songs on this album range in age. Some are nearly 20 years old, while others were completed during the recording process. Each is a memento, a keepsake from a specific time and place, like a shell that you found while taking a long walk along the shore. Two studios, Jim’s in New Hampshire and Tod Moses’ studio in Vermont were used for recording. Additionally, Tod produced several of the songs and provided drums.

For the past three decades, Jim Tyrrell has been an integral part of the New England music scene. He has recorded and written four albums on his own (two with the folk trio The Midweeklings). Jim has opened for Don McLean, Ellis Paul, The Avett Brothers, John Prine, and Weird Al Yankovic over the course of his career. He performs over 200 solo, duo, Dueling Pianos, and full band shows annually.

These songs are deeply personal, but Jim invites you to find your own meaning in them, and he appreciates your listening.

Jim will be performing many of these songs live to promote his upcoming album. Take a look at Jim’s interactive website, which includes brand-new instrumental tracks to go with the album. That website can be viewed here: www.Boxofshells.com
