On March 25, 2022, with support from development partners DNT Entertainment and OC Hit, Emilia Vaughn released “Sunflower” for the first time independently under her label Emilia Vaughn Entertainment and Media Group. She launched a humanitarian aid campaign to assist Ukrainian refugees and pledged to donate 100% of streaming profits to two non-profit organizations: “World Central Kitchen” and “Friends of Moldova,” which have been on the front lines of the Ukraine conflict and have helped refugees who had to leave their homes.

Throughout recent months, “Sunflower” has climbed the all-access “What’s In-Store” charts and was played in retail locations in the US multiple times to date in 273 markets with majority spins in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, and Dallas.

Music Video

The supporting music video for Emilia’s single “Sunflower,” which was directed by Dani N Thompson and produced by DNT Entertainment, has been shown on Nickelodeon, MTV, Loop TV, and AXS TV’s Music High Five. It has also been viewed over 172,000 times on YouTube.

The Success of “Sunflowers”

A year after its initial release to the public, “Sunflower” has attracted the attention of national mainstream media and Top 40 radio stations the week of April 8, 2023. This song conveys a message of hope, peace, and solidarity because the sunflower is Ukraine’s national flower. Emilia hopes that radio and mainstream media support will spread this message and give her a chance to use the “Sunflower” humanitarian aid campaign to its full potential to help those in need.

The Producers of “Sunflowers”

“Sunflower” was composed by Emilia Vaughn, and produced by Robbie Dean, while Thomas Barsoe produced the vocals, as well as mixing and mastering the track. Stella Baum took the album artwork photos, with Chlo Subia directing, and with DNT Entertainment providing design assistance. The song has a beat per minute of 88.03 and a runtime of 2:21.
