On McKinney Music, “the best independent music magazine in the UK“, a 80s thrash metal guitar backing track for guitar players featuring 80’s thrash riffs with a nice chewy phaser effect, relentless, pounding drums, and a constant high tempo.

80s Thrash Metal Guitar Backing Track in A Minor

This backing track was produced to sound like an early Megadeth tune. The phaser effect is not quite what Mustaine would use but it has a similar effect on the riffs, giving them a blurriness, similar to the intro to “Liar”, from So Far, So Good…So What! These riffs aren’t the easiest to decipher by ear but the impact is satisfyingly energetic when combined with the relentless drum beats.

Try learning the riffs and improvising guitar solos over them as they repeat.
